If you've suffered an accident, it's important to know how to apply for accident benefit. The main applications for accident benefit are Income Tax (IR) and Unemployment Insurance (SD).

You can apply for IR accident benefit on the Receita Federal website.

Taxpayers need to enter their name, CPF number, full address, the date and place of the incident, the type of accident, the amount of their actual salary in the month prior to the date of the application and details of the unemployment insurance they have taken out.

What will the INSS do when it receives the request?

The INSS will analyze the request and decide what to do. Depending on the case, you can call on the following services:

Accident benefit: if the request is justified;

Disability pension: if there is no way of proving the illness;

Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC): if you have access to medical care;
